No child should have to walk the road of grief alone

MEET OUR TEAM

Founder & Director

Sarah Rivkah Kohn

An only child, Sarah Rivkah was 9 years old when her mother passed away after 6 ½ years of battling an illness. Her father remarried a few months later.

The loneliness she felt following her mother’s passing sparked a determination to one day provide comfort and support to teen girls dealing with parental loss. She founded Links Family in 2006, with the publication of the first issue of Links Magazine, and has continuously expanded the scope of the organization as she seeks to address the specific needs of each child.

Founding Partners

Mimi Gross

Mimi Gross

After 27 years of marriage, Mimi Gross lost her husband Shlomie, z”l, to a sudden heart attack in 2012. While looking for a grief-support program for her then 11½ -year-old son, Mimi sought and discovered Links, which was at that time only servicing teenage girls. In 2012, she established the boys division, Shlomie’s Club, in her husband’s memory. She’s an active participant in all Shlomie’s Club programming and personally attends every event, ensuring that every boy feels special and noticed.

Mirrel Eissenberg

Having lost her father when she was in 11th grade following 10 painful months of illness, Mirrel knows what it’s like for children who’ve lost a parent, and Links Family is a cause that’s close to her heart. She attends many Zisel’s Links and Little Pearls events and is a beloved figure for our girls.
