Honoring a life defined by two great loves — family and Torah — and carrying Rachel's light forward.
A beloved wife, daughter, mother, and friend, Rachel Sokel, a"h, was known for her kindness, simchas hachaim, and unwavering emunah.
She worked hard to infuse her deep love for Torah and mitzvos into her home and poured her heart into raising her children. She nurtured their growth, celebrated their accomplishments, and devoted herself completely to helping them become the people they were meant to be.
Remembering Rachel
To honor Rachel's memory, her friends and family have established The Rachel Sokel Fund to provide support for young boys who lost a parent as they approach their bar mitzvah.
The fund will subsidize the cost of bar mitzvah lessons - leining and/or pshetl prep - allowing each boy to approach his special day with confidence and comfort.
Each lesson learned, each pasuk mastered, each step taken toward becoming a bar mitzvah represents both a connection to Torah and an investment in a child's future — values Rachel cherished above all else.
Carry her light forward
Through this project, Rachel's nurturing spirit will continue to guide and uplift others.
May the zechus of this project and the Torah learned in her merit bring comfort, strength, and lasting inspiration to all who knew her and bring the highest aliyah for Rachel's neshamah.
